Senior Tax Preparer & Auditor
Location: McKinney, TX (100% Onsite)
Salary: $100,000–$120,000 BOE + Bonus Potential
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
CornerStone Professional Placement has partnered with an established public accounting firm seeking a Senior Tax Preparer & Auditor to manage a large client book of business, prepare, review, and oversee tax returns, and work directly with clients and staff in a fast-paced CPA firm environment. This role is ideal for a tax professional with hands-on public accounting experience supporting both individual and small business clients.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and review individual, partnership, S-Corp, trust, and business tax returns
• Review tax work completed by staff members for accuracy and completeness
• Manage a high-volume book of business and ensure timely filings during tax season
• Meet directly with clients to gather information, resolve tax matters, and provide support
• Assist with audits, tax research, and compliance matters
• Work closely with staff and help support workflow management during busy season
Requirements
• 3+ years of recent public accounting tax experience within a CPA firm environment required
• CPA or EA required (must be able to sign tax returns)
• Strong experience with 1040, 1065, 1120S, trusts, partnerships, and pass-through entities
• Experience reviewing tax returns and operating independently within a CPA firm environment preferred
• QuickBooks experience required
• Lacerte experience preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and deadline management skills
Additional Details
• Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Busy season workload averages approximately 60 hours/week from March 1 – April 15
• Bonus potential based on performance
