Senior Staff Accountant
Location Las Colinas, TX | Onsite
Compensation & Schedule
• $70,000–$80,000 annually
• Full-time, standard business hours
• W2 employment
Role Impact
This role owns the accounting engine for a high-volume, project-based construction business. You will transform field activity into clean, decision-ready financial reporting that drives profitability and cash discipline. Success means accurate job-level margin visibility, reliable monthly close, and scalable financial systems that support growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead monthly close process including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
• Implement and manage job costing across fencing and decking projects; track labor, materials, and overhead to identify margin leakage
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable cycles to improve cash conversion and working capital timing
• Optimize accounting systems (QuickBooks or similar) and build repeatable processes for invoicing, purchasing, and reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision-making with ownership
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong GAAP knowledge with advanced Excel skills
Core Tools & Systems
• QuickBooks or comparable accounting software
• Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, financial modeling, reporting)
• General ledger systems and job costing modules
• Financial reporting and cash flow forecasting tools
Preferred Skills
• Experience in construction, home services, or project-based environments
• Job costing and margin analysis expertise
• CPA or CMA designation
