Retail Lead Designer
Location: Onsite
Compensation: $65,000 Annually
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Standard Business Hours
ROLE IMPACT
Bring brands to life through innovative retail design. As a Retail Lead Designer, you'll lead the creative vision for interior and exterior retail environments, partnering directly with clients to transform ideas into memorable customer experiences. From concept development through construction documentation, you'll balance creativity with technical expertise while leading projects that strengthen brand identity, enhance the customer experience, and deliver exceptional results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design innovative interior and exterior retail environments that align with client goals, brand identity, and customer experience objectives.

• Partner directly with clients to understand project needs, present design concepts, and guide key design decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

• Collaborate with branding, technical, architecture, and construction teams to deliver cohesive, brand-focused design solutions.

• Develop space plans, finish selections, fixture details, lighting concepts, and construction documentation.

• Source materials and finishes that balance aesthetics, functionality, durability, and project budgets.

• Review architectural plans and design documents to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and design intent.

• Manage multiple projects, timelines, approvals, and deliverables while maintaining exceptional design quality.

• Mentor junior designers and foster a collaborative, innovative studio environment.

• Stay current on retail design trends, emerging materials, technology, and consumer behavior to develop fresh, forward-thinking concepts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from a FIDER/CIDA-accredited program.

• Five or more years of professional retail design experience supported by a portfolio demonstrating successful interior and exterior retail projects.

• Proficiency with SketchUp, Enscape, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and other industry-standard design software.

• Construction documentation and detailing.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Expertise in space planning, finishes, lighting design, merchandising environments, and retail branding.

• Excellent presentation, communication, organization, and project management skills.

• Creative problem-solving with the ability to balance strategic thinking and technical execution.
